The update for KaiOS phones is usually performed via OTA (Over-the-Air), which means that your phone will download it over the WiFi or mobile data connection.

In order to update a software version, please do the following steps:

  • Make sure that you have good signal strength if you are using a mobile data connection. As an alternative, you may try using a WiFi connection to perform this update.
  • Check if you have a valid SIM card inside the phone. If you do have a SIM card in, there’s a chance it could be inserted incorrectly. To confirm, you can try removing it and adding it back, then attempting the download again.
  • Go to: Settings -> Device -> Device Information -> Software -> Software Update and update the version up to the most recent one.

In case you receive a notification that your software is up-to-date, please confirm with your device manufacturer. Your device manufacturer will be responsible for the update plans in your region.
